Hey Family,

I thought it would be great for me to write a weekly update on my postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and the Baby. The baby updates will be weekly until he turns a month old, then it will be monthly updates. I will be mentioning the ups and downs plus also the products that have been working for us and helped with the recoveries.

Baby Update

Lets start with the little one, Jake was 7 lbs and 8 oz, 21 in long, he did drop in weight to 6 lbs 12 oz when he was weighed 2 days later but went back up to 7 lbs 1 oz. He didn’t have any jaundice and passed all the other test. He is a noisy sleeper and took a long time to adjust to sleeping at night (normal in babies), he also has more hiccups than I have ever seen in a baby. He sleeps most of the day but is awake for a little bit.

I was shocked when he was born on how different he looks from his older brother Adam. He has brown hair, dark eyes (we can’t tell what color it is yet) and his skin is a lot darker. Yes, he is my husbands child(hubby joked about that).

I did forget that we would be going through a lot of clothes, since he poops and pees a lot. For the past couple days we have slowed down. Our favorite diapers that we have been using on both the boys that is working well for newborns is the Hello Bello brand from Walmart.

He doesn’t like to be swaddled up, if we do need to swaddle  his hands have to be free to move. We have been doing the baby wrap and it has been working really great for us, especially for walks and going to the store with both boys.

We started off rocky, our little boy didn’t want to nurse in the hospital. When we got home from the hospital he got better at nursing. Along with the normal discomforts of nursing, the contractions were down right painful for about 4 days. Both discomforts have lessened and I am getting used to someone feeding off of me again. I am hungrier than when I was pregnant.

I am using Organic Nipple Butter Breastfeeding Cream by Earth Mama, to help with cracks and discomfort of nursing. It smelled weird to me at first but I have also gotten used to that.

I tried using nursing bras but absolutely hate them, they didn’t have any support for me and so I am back to using the bras that I had before my first boy was born and worked during the time I nursed him.

*I am hoping that I do get my little man on a schedule instead of always on demand. I dealt with my oldest spitting up all the time and it was a lot of milk coming back up.

The day I went into labor I weight at 145 lbs 4.5 oz and at 1 week postpartum I weighed at 128 lbs. I am healing pretty well down there, and the bleeding has subsided quite a lot. I have had a lot of energy since giving birth and very glad for that. I also gained my sweet tooth back and will be trying to have some self-control so I don’t go overboard. I am trying to take it slow in what I am doing, my mind and body want to push myself which could be hard for me in the long run.

Herbal Perineal Spray by Earth Mama  This is a great product that has help me with healing, this spray has replaced multiple products. I like that it is natural and not full of chemicals that shouldn’t be on my body.

I have been using the Belly Bandit to help me with back support, bring down my belly to be near what it was before getting pregnant. It has also helped with my confidence.

My goal is to started walking a couple times a week, to meal prep and to start meal planning some healthier meals. Hopefully around 4 weeks I can start doing some light weight lifting but until then I will not be pushing myself just yet.

Mentally I am doing great and adjusting to the changes pretty well along with being less frustrated since this is my second little boy that things are not new to me.

How my oldest son is handling it all!

At first my oldest boy was a little bit overwhelming with some much love he was giving his brother, he is alright with the changes as us bringing his little brother home. He is a little bit jealous and will need to find a way that I can spend some more time with my oldest among taking care of the baby, home and blogging. He is calming down on how much he wants to be with the baby which I like, he does want to pick up the baby(I have always interceded) and wants to always have the baby on his lap.

That is all for this weeks update and I hope that you enjoyed a little bit of what is happening in our family! Stay tuned for next weeks update and see how the little boy is doing!

Our Family Has Grown!

Hey Everyone,

Last week we added a new member of the family and no its not a puppy. The newest member sleeps, poops, and eats a lot. On Thursday April 18th we had our little boy Jake. I waited 9 long months to meet this little man! 57650863_660728807711997_6893387836809019392_n

I will say that we are adjusting a little better than I thought would happen. It is definitely different this time around bring a baby home, since we have a toddler. My son is attached to his little brother or was when we first brought him home, he has mellowed out a bit. He wants to help out with everything and it was overwhelming for me at first.

I thought that I wasn’t able to get things done after coming home and will say that some things are piled up but I have been able to tackle a couple of the chores. I have been so antsy lately and I have a lot of energy compared to before giving birth. I feel that my body is adjusting to life, and seems to hurt less than before. I will be visiting my chiropractor for a well deserved adjustment.

Since I have a toddler that tells me when he has a dirty or wet diaper, that it is easier to know when I need to change his diaper. He also lets me know what he wants or if he is hungry/thirsty. I forgot that I have to be more on top of it with a newborn and I have to check if he has a wet/dirty diaper, if he is hungry and to make sure to always support his head.

It will take me a little time to adjust to everything, like handling a toddler and a new born everyday. Managing the home and keeping it semi clean. To get used to nursing again. To be able to except what my body looks like now. It is a lot to take in and I am trying to slow myself down a little before I mentally crash.

I don’t think I will be leaving the house like I used to and wish that our local Walmart had that grocery pickup to make my life a little easier.

I will like to say that I am happy that I am no longer pregnant and that my little boy is in my arms. I will mention that I was having difficulties being pregnant due to pinch nerves in my hips, an extremely painful spot on my belly, general discomforts and my love/hate relationship with being pregnant.

With this new addition the family, you will be seeing more of our journey on here. I will be writing about the Labor and Delivery, postpartum and baby updates, breastfeeding journey and anything baby/toddler related that is happening around our home. I hope that you are able to join me on our new adventure that will be happening.

FabFitFun Unboxing

Have you ever wondered if it it is worth ordering one of those subscription boxes, paying the price that is stamped on there to get some goodies. I decided to try the FabFitFun subscription box that comes four times a year. So lets dive right into this Box and see what i got and it was worth it!

FabFitFun Unboxing

*This box is not sponsored and has no affiliated links. I bought this with my own money!

FabFitFun box is a subscription box that is $49.99 that comes seasonally. The goodies inside are new products that are full size that you will probably wouldn’t buy normally if you saw in store, if your like me.

I had gotten this box once before and canceled it thinking that I wasn’t going to use the products and it was just going to pile up in our house. When I did that I regretted the fact that I wasn’t getting products that I felt like were pampering me.

I ordered this box in February and received it at the end of March, it is the spring box, it was filled with colorful spring products. You can customize half the products that you are going to receive in the box if you are in time, sadly I missed that opportunity and had to be surprised what I was going to get. I was excited when I got the box dropped off at my door and was ready to see what was in store for me.

Opening the box I saw a FabFitFun Magazine with Venus Williams on the Front Cover! This magazine is filled with great content including information on what is in the box and all the other options that was offered. I also got a little gift card to Hello Fresh in there(not using) before getting to the nicely wrapped box of products.

I will like to say I have only used one product out of the box but have opened the other products up to get a little bit of some knowledge of what I am getting.

So what did I get in my box. It is said that the boxes will total up to  from $226.99-$314

  • Show me your Mumu Brie Robe- $84 I can’t wait to wear this after my son is born and the floral is great on it. You have to wash it cold and lay it to dry, the material dries really fast, and it didn’t even wrinkle.
  • Quay Australia Vivienne in “Black/Smoke”-$60 I wore these a couple times now and they are great shade, the oversize might make my face small but it sure blocks out the sun.
  • Giadzy Copper Platted Measuring Spoons- $15 I like the copper and maybe thinking about buying the big measuring spoons that go along with the teaspoons. Checked out her site and there is only the teaspoons.
  • Daily Concepts Daily Detox Brush- $18 I am ready to try this out after having my little man.
  • Quai Leave in Conditioner- $26 I have heard good things with this conditioner and I will try to use it when I needed. I tried this out and will only be using it once in awhile, it has a strong smell that isn’t pleasing to me. It did work pretty good in my hair will probably use it in the summer when I go swimming.
  • Brandt Skincare Needles No More, No more Baggage Eye De-Puffing Gel- $42 This is one product that I doubt that I will be using and probably will be putting it in a give away box.
  • Manna Kadar Champagne Body Scrub- $24 This smells great and I love body scrubs, and will be ready to use after I have my little boy. This also was a great size, and will last me a while. Pamper night Here I Come!

So my Total was $269

Do I think its worth the hype? Yes, for me at least. I got his box not only to review but really felt like being pampered during my last part of my pregnancy and beginning of my postpartum. It helped me feel little like myself while I don’t feel like me while being pregnant. I will keep getting the subscription!

Biblical Feast

“And afterward Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness.” Exodus 5:1

A topic that has become such a controversy, especially in our church denominations. A topic that might be touched by our pastors but with a bitter taste in their mouths, with the conclusion we no longer keep them and find no relevance in our lives today. Church members when hearing just feast that they go silent, excuse themselves and walk away. What is it about the Biblical Feast that put a bitter taste in their mouths and why when someone keeps them to be seen as radicals or legalistic crazies!

What I hear about the Biblical Feast

When someone hears feast they think Jewish traditions and rituals and that it isn’t for the Christians. With much distaste about Jews on their tongues many will find ways to stay away from the Biblical Feast. That the Biblical Feast are legalistic and that Jesus Died on the Cross and that is why they no longer keep them and that no one should keep the feast.

What are the Feast and Holy Convocations that are spoken in Exodus 12 and Leviticus 23.

“And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the Children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the Feasts of the Lord, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.” Leviticus 23:1,2

Feast means a large meal, typically in celebration of something. It’s a memorial, remembrance, and celebration. Holy Convocation a large formal assembly of people, the action of calling people together for a large formal assembly. On those days are when you do not work.

Which Feast listed in Exodus 12 and Leviticus 23. These are Major Feast!

  • Sabbath- Leviticus 23:3
  • Feast of Passover-Exodus 12, Leviticus 23:5
  • Feast of Unleavened Bread- Exodus 12, Leviticus 23:6-8
  • Feast of Pentecost-Leviticus 23:15-22
  • Feast of Trumpets-Leviticus 23:23-25
  • Day of Atonement-Leviticus 23:26
  • Feast of Tabernacles-Leviticus 23:26-32
  • Last Great Days- Leviticus 23:36

Minor Feast

  • Feast of Dedication(Hanukkah)- John 10:22-23
  • Purim- Is remembrance for the Jews after the Haman’s Defeat and the people were saved. No biblical verses for backing.

Each one of these Feast I will talk about Separately and more in depth about what each means, when it takes place and how it is celebrated.

Whom was the Feast given to

It is said that feast were given to the Jews and does not apply to Christians. That is the one of biggest misconception about the feast that I hear a lot. The first feast that Moses was instructed to tell the Congregation of Israel was when they were slaves to Pharaoh. Exodus 12 was the first instructions on how to keep Passover and Unleavened Bread as the first born of those that didn’t follow God and do what was instructed were killed.

“And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron in the Land of Egypt, saying, This month shall be unto you the beginning of the months; it shall be the first month of the year to you. Speak ye unto all the Congregation of Israel , saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take them every man a lamb, according to the house a lamb for an house:” Exodus 12:1-3

Each time that God gave Moses instructions to tell His people, God will either say Children or Congregation of Israel. Jews were never mention or pointed out to be given the instructions until Numbers 2. Numbers Chapter 2 is the first time it mentions the separation of tribes and only 2 out of 12 tribes were Judaism.

Traditions and Rituals

“And he took a cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divided it among yourselves: For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come. And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in my remembrance of me. Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood which is shed for you.” Luke 22: 17-20

“He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself. After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the toweth wherewith he was girded.” John 13:4-6

In the united States there is 11 Federal Holidays that used to be a day off of work and 11 non federal big holidays that are more of an acknowledgement and might be celebrated. A couple of those holidays, Christmas, Thanksgiving, 4th of July and memorial day. A lot of the Holidays have huge celebrations, traditions that were created and past down etc. When we think of those we don’t stick our nose up in the air and are disguised with them.

When given the Feast, there was instructions in how to celebrate the feast. These instructions were basic and simple, you can add to them in how you wan to celebrate, the only change that you will notice that happened was the sacrificing the lamb. Traditions and rituals can change through the years and be modified because we feel like it. The added traditions that people might see and possible mentioned later on was done by the Orthodox Jew in the old and new testament. Being considered a Jew, Hebrew or Israelite should not be something bad. Like each Modern holiday, each feast having a different meaning, days and ways to celebrate it. Jesus took part of Passover before he was taken away by the Roman Soldiers, added more instructions that had more meaning to the Passover.

The Feast are legalistic!

“And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a Feast to the Lord throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.” Exodus 12:14

It can be if you are keeping it for the wrong reason. If you are keeping it only because you think you will get saved that way which is only by works. Faith does takes works but your heart has to be in the right place. Those that keep it (like me), find meaning in keeping them, feel closer to Yeshua and enjoy the celebrations, remembrance and memorial of the Feast. We don’t feel obligated or forced to keep them but convicted after studying and praying to keep them. We can follow the bible all we want and do all the right things, it doesn’t mean we are automatically saved, our hearts and minds aren’t in the right place.

“Wherefore the law is Holy, and the commandment holy and just, and good” Romans 7:12

“But we know that the Law is good, if a man use it lawfully” 1 Timothy 1:8

In Romans, Paul is talking about how the Law is Holy, he is referring to the Laws that were created by God for his people. There are two different types of Laws that are talked about in Romans, that Jesus encountered while walking on this earth. The Laws his father created and people created, one was just and good and the other was controlling. It depends on which one you want to dwell on. As for me and my house we follow the one that God has given to his people.

He Died on the Cross

The major reason that everyone doesn’t want to keep the feast is that it was done away with at the Cross. If that was so, we wouldn’t have Paul attending and speaking about unleavened bread and that we are to keep the feast. Paul might not be everyone favorite example but the Holy Ghost is a great example, for the Holy Ghost which is the guide and comforter that Yeshua spoke about in John. The Holy Ghost filled each and everyone in the house, on Pentecost, that they all spoke different languages. If the feast were no longer, the sounds of Heaven wouldn’t happened and the Holy Ghost wouldn’t have been there.

What was done away with at the Cross when Yeshua died was the sacrifices because he was the sacrificial Lamb.

“Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.” 1 Corinthians 5:7,8

“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as a fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” Acts 2:1-4

I find that the bible is simple in what we are to do, but we have those influences that push us away from what God has given us in the Bible. The New testament doesn’t give us all the answers on how we are to live our lives but the Old testament is the Foundations of our lives and the rest of the Bible. It is up to ourselves to listen and obey to the Word of God, it isn’t up to someone else.

The feast in the bible have been replaced with modern holidays, church communions, agape feast and camp meetings. They were given the specific date when they were to be kept and there was specific simple instructions on how to keep them. Once you start changing something, it starts loosing its meaning. The bible has the days that we are to keep the Biblical Feast, but since we go by the Roman Calendar for our everyday lives it doesn’t match. We look at the Jewish Calendar to figure out the closets to the Biblical dates.

I believe that the Biblical Feast are relevant for our lives today to remember what God has done in the past, present and future for his people. It also shows that he is never changing, so is His Feast. If you have any questions leave a comment! I would love to hear what your thoughts are.
